DataLogr Software

DataLogr Version 2.11c, IMAGIN's Metadata software tool, is now available for free download directly from this website. DataLogr (pronounced 'data logger') version 2.11c is the data documentation program developed and copyrighted by IMAGIN. DataLogr allows metadata (data about data) to be entered into established forms or templates. Design a template unique for your needs, or use one of the seven templates supplied with DataLogr.

The software can be set up to be compliant with the Content Standards for Digital Geospatial Metadata (the Metadata Standard) approved by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC). Accompanying DataLogr is a 41-page Reference Manual

System Requirements

DataLogr 2.11c is a 32-bit Microsoft Windows-based program. The system requirements are absolutely minimal. Any 32 bit MS Windows based computer should be able to run DataLogr. Note that version 2.11 had a flaw that caused it to fail in Windows 2000 -- that has been fixed, and 2.11c works for Windows 2000.

Installing DataLogr

The DataLogr download file -- dlogr211.ex -- is a self-extracting compressed file. Download it to a temporary directory, fix the file extension by renaming it from dlogr211.ex to dlogr211.exe, then run it to extract out the following four files:

• SETUP.EXE (the setup program);
• SETUP.LST (instructions for the setup program);
• DATALOGR.CAB (the compressed distribution file);
• DATALOGR.PDF (the manual).

Run the SETUP program to load DataLogr and its support and sample files onto your computer.
