    Spotlight on Supporting Organizations
    Macomb County
Macomb County GIS Services - The Macomb County Department of Planning and Economic Development has been involved in GIS since 1994.  Growing out of a need for customized Census data and demographic market analyses to support the Department’s Economic Development Division, GIS was the natural choice for managing and mapping these data.
In 2002 the program completed automation of the County’s 300,000+ tax parcels. Since that time the GIS Services Division has been actively involved in green infrastructure mapping and analysis, E911 address maintenance and the mapping of economic assets. Division staff has been actively working to expand GIS within Macomb County by providing technical support and data services to many departments and agencies. In 2006, the GIS Services Division established an ArcIMS based mapping website to provide access to an expanding set of map services. Local units of government, the emergency management community and the general public now have web access to imagery, FEMA flood maps, environmental datasets, and the County’s tax parcel mapping system.
