Participate in the 2008 IMAGIN Membership Census Survey Today! - IMAGIN has just released the 2008 membership census survey which all IMAGIN members are invited to complete online at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=Yc4U_2b65DJX2JPJilTd05eQ_3d_3d
Completing this short, ten-minute survey will help IMAGIN inventory its membership base, identify its members' geographic application interest areas, appreciate its members' backgrounds, and help the organization deliver the best resources, services, and information possible. It will also help the IMAGIN organization assess what you appreciate most, what could be improved, and where we can work together to strengthen/expand the benefits of your membership. IMAGIN will use the survey results to ensure the organization is responsive to the needs of Michigan's community of geographic data users and geographic application professionals.

Future of IMAGIN - Membership Involvement Drives Its Future Success
The vast majority of work accomplished by IMAGIN originates from volunteer commitment and dedication. This happens because our members believe in the potential of geographic applications to transform the organizations we serve. IMAGIN is an inclusive organization with the purpose of promoting those who advance the geographic sciences discipline by embracing opportunities to educate, network, and professionally develop our ability to utilize geographic information resources. IMAGIN members collectively benefit from witnessing, understanding, and advocating the activities our members develop and share at IMAGIN conferences and seminars. IMAGIN members have also committed themselves to pursue opportunities for continuing educational development to remain aware of the latest advancements and techniques applied using today's geographic technology and methods. In short, IMAGIN provides the opportunity for you to receive the benefits and acknowledgment you deserve as a student, professional user, architect, and/or supporter of geographic information resources and applications.
IMAGIN Announces Opportunities to Further Your Professional Development - IMAGIN is excited to invite its members to support opportunities for geographic education/advocacy, networking, professional development, and member service delivery throughout the year. Starting in the Fall of 2007, a two-hour seminar will be held on a monthly basis covering a specific aspect of a geospatial emerging technology. Those unable to attend in person will be able to participate through a web meeting environment. This series is well suited for both the student and the geographic applications professional. To learn more or suggest topics of interest to you send an email to EmergingTechnologies@imagin.org.
Upcoming E-News Themes - In addition to our permanent 'GIS in Michigan' coverage, we include an additional theme for each monthly issue. The theme will not limit the E-News articles to only this theme, but rather it will provide an additional focus for some articles.
The theme for the December 2007 issue of E-News will feature "Emerging Technologies in GIS Applications".
Send any ideas you have relating to the general 'GIS in Michigan' theme of the E-News or the special theme for next month to enews@imagin.org.
