Broadband Mapping Advocacy to Increase Citizen Engagement
Presented By: Ashley Hitt of Connected Nation Michigan
Over 200,000 households in Michigan do not have broadband (high-speed internet) access, in what is known as the “Digital Divide.” This lack of broadband access keeps citizens from accessing government services, telehealth, and educational opportunities. This presentation will review how Connected Nation Michigan collects more accurate broadband data, verifies and refines data from field validation and resident feedback, collaborates with local communities, and works with the state on implementing a grant program to expand broadband.
